Nederhiser's orchestral debut on oboe began under the baton of Mei-Ann Chen ​within the Portland Youth Philharmonic. Rebecca holds a Bachelors in Music Education from Warner Pacific College and a Master of Arts in Music from Washington State University (emphasis oboe performance). She has studied under Karen Wagner and Keri McCarthy and has performed regularly with orchestras around the Northwest and Midwest. As an ensemble member, she has performed in Carnegie Hall, Benaroya Hall, and the Kennedy Center for the Arts. 

​Rebecca is also an active performer on English horn. Her latest solo performances have included Aaron Copland's Quiet City and world premiere of Rubén Gómez's El Solitario.
